The new update enhances NotebookLM’s ability to search, evaluate, and cite information across multiple sources. In the preview, users can select and import AI-generated or verified documents directly into a workspace titled “Emerging AI Features and Product Updates.”
Unlike current search integrations, Deep Research allows contextual analysis across multiple web pages, PDFs, and datasets. It identifies citation quality, flags weak sources, and automatically extracts key insights — positioning NotebookLM as a hybrid between a research assistant and a fact-checking tool.
A Glimpse Into the Interface
The interface shows major improvements in the Sources tab, where users can:
- Discover and preview relevant data from external links.
- Import specific passages into their notebook.
- Compare citations side by side.
